EDLD 5317 Compilation & Final Publication
For the outline, our group was charged with planning our publication. We needed to select a topic, develop essential questions, vet potential publication websites, and tie all of our research into our innovation plan. Fortunately, Tonya, Chris, and I share the same innovation plan, so incorporating that piece was easy. We also provided options for ePortfolio building with platforms like Canva, Wix, WordPress, and Google Sites. We plan to formally submit our article at some point, but we want to gather more data from our student ePortfolios.
Publication Outline
Publication Draft
We used Google Docs to compose our draft to enhance our ability to collaborate and work when we were available. We broke down the article and each took responsibility for a section. Dividing the work into sections made it easy and palpable for us as full-time educators and graduate students to execute this assignment. We decided the cognitive approach that worked best for our innovation plan was the social approach. ePortfolios are such a fluid and personal project that requires engagement, collaboration, and networking. So far my 8th graders have been doing an exceptional job of creating their ePs and learning from each other. I divided them into learning communities and they've learned how to use their LCs and their other peers for guidance and reflection. I love to see them ask for feedback and apply what they were told. I am confident that my students are learning collaboration and revision skills that will prepare them for higher education and or the workforce.

Media Project
Assignment three was a podcast or long-form video discussion promoting our publication. Tonya, Chris, and I recorded our audio using Zoom. I split the audio from the video using iMovie and created our podcast cover image using Canva Pro. This project was an opportunity for me to showcase my media skills and assist my group with creating a potential podcast we will continue to collaborate on.
Final Publication
After receiving feedback from Creighton and Dr. Still, Tonya, Chris, and I went back to the drawing board to identify ways we could improve our article and prepare to submit it for publication. Below is the link to our final draft ready to submit for publication.
